Sicily is an unique Mediterranean island located on the meditation sea comprising of nine different provinces. Theoretically it is part of Italy but is has its own distinct culture, tradition and heritage.

The most important tourist attraction of this beautiful Mediterranean island is the Capuchin Catacombs which contains the mummified remains of inhabitants dating back to the 15th century. The next major attraction is the city of Catania which is situated on the volcano Mt Etna. Galleria Regionale is the biggest art museum of Sicily and is famous for its collection of renaissance artifacts.

Other important attractions includes the Marionette Museum, Marionette Museum, Ortygia, Palazzo Mirto and the active volcano of Mt Etna which is known for its natural reserve and varied topography

The most sought after shopping item in Sicily is the pupi puppets, coppola caps and the Sicilian cart which were hugely used in the past. Besides these Sicily is famous for its painted pottery items like vases jugs, plates etc.
