Dubrovnik – Pearl of the Adriatic

The romantic city of Dubrovnik is located in Croatia. The city dates back to the 7th century is today a UNESCO world heritage site and a premium tourist destination in the Adriatic region. The beauty of the city lies in its history that has successfully managed to interweave with its present.

The main attraction of Dubrovnik is its magnificent city walls, measuring about 19meters in thickness and 6390 in length. These walls were built to defend the city from the attack of the invaders. The Big Fountain of Ononfrio is another major attraction that was built by a Napoleon architect and was used as a water supply point for the entire city. Across the main streets lies the beautiful Franciscan Monastery and the Sponza palace.Other attractions includes The Church of St Blaise and the cathedral.

Shopping items in Dubrovnik include local Croatian wine, various types of souvenirs made from wood, gold and silver jewelry, laces and homemade honey and other edible food stuffs.
